Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Supervising the conduct of administrative and technical work in the deanships , departments and research centers associated with it and working to raise the level of performance therein.
- Working to develop research, development and innovation at the university and creating a stimulating work environment.
- Working to support research programs that meet the requirements of the labor market and those who benefit from them in accordance with the regulations and instructions approved by the university in this regard.
- Working to develop and achieve sustainability of the research infrastructure available in colleges, research centers and laboratories in a way that contributes to the continuous development and improvement of research efforts.
- Working to establish appropriate mechanisms to motivate researchers at the university, support and evaluate scientific research, and allocate financial awards for distinguished research in various fields of knowledge at the university.
- Supporting creative projects, creating the appropriate environment for them, and presenting them to the labor market through business incubators.
- Supporting technology transfer and localization projects and creating the appropriate environment for them.
- Working to develop postgraduate programs, creating a stimulating learning environment, and expanding the scope of benefit from it.
- Coordinating and supervising the meetings of the University Council, preparing the minutes and executive decisions issued by the Council and communicating them to the university sectors, each within its jurisdiction.
- Supervising the permanent committees of the university’s Scientific Council and following up on its work.
- Supervising the management of scientific chairs, societies, and scientific journals, following up on the university’s scientific publications of magazines and periodicals, and continuing to work on developing them and raising their scientific level.
- Supervising scientific research ethics committees.
- Develop plans, determine the university’s needs for teaching assistants and lecturers, and establish mechanisms for appointing them in coordination with the colleges, the relevant university agencies, and the General Administration of Human Resources.
- Supervising the holding of specialized scientific conferences, whether local, regional or international, and scientific events and conferences at the university.
- Follow up on the implementation of the university’s strategic plan for postgraduate studies, research, development and innovation.
- Working to obtain financial support opportunities for the university’s research and innovative projects and introducing these opportunities within the university.
- Working to provide annual financial support to faculty members and researchers at the university in order to attend local and international scientific conferences.
- Highlighting the scientific and cognitive status of the university by enhancing international cooperation, cultural relations, and international leadership.
- Develop plans and mechanisms to improve the university’s global classification and follow up on its classification through prestigious classification institutions.
- Coordinating development efforts for cultural relations and international leadership and integrating them into all university sectors.
- Following up on the mechanisms for preparing and matching master’s and doctoral theses and their conformity with rules and regulations before awarding them.
- Supervising scholarships for postgraduate students at the university, following up on their academic progress, and helping them overcome the problems they face in foreign universities.
- Constantly striving to support external relations and partnerships and exchange experiences through.
- Concluding scientific agreements, joint programs, and joint academic degree programs between the university and other universities, and preparing arrangements for the exchange of official visits between the university and international universities for researchers.
- Implementing joint scientific research projects and exchanging students and professors with prestigious foreign universities.
- Encouraging full-time opportunities and scientific communication for university staff, which leads to enriching research and academic staff.
- Working to attract distinguished faculty members and researchers and provide the necessary support and capabilities to transfer their expertise and benefit from it.
- Holding consultative meetings with deans of deanships , supervisors of organizational units, heads of sectors and centers associated with it, and consulting with them in what achieves the interest of the work and overcoming obstacles, whether these meetings are periodic or according to the interest of the work, and continuous communication with them, and cooperation in conducting work and facilitating procedures.
- Supervising the preparation of annual plans for the entities affiliated with it within the scope of its competence, in coordination with the deanships and departments with jurisdiction, following up on their implementation, and preparing annual reports on them.
- Working to communicate and support the relationship between the university and government manufacturing institutions and forming scientific and technological cooperation committees in various fields of research.
- Developing practical solutions that enhance the educational and research aspect of the university and benefiting from various modern technologies, and following up on developments to transfer, localize and develop them to serve graduate studies and research programs in a way that is commensurate with the nature of the university and its ambitions.
- Working to identify research programs that meet the requirements of the labor market and their beneficiaries, methods of offering them, and everything related to them in accordance with the regulations and instructions approved by the university in this regard and in coordination with the competent authorities.
- Determine the human needs of faculty members and their equivalents, administrators, technicians, workers, headquarters, equipment, means of transportation, and others, which are needed by departments, centers and related units, in coordination with the General Administration of Human Resources and the relevant committees at the university, to provide, follow up and present them. The President of the University for any objection or delay in doing so.
- Preparing periodic reports and submitting them to the President of the University on the executive plans and programs and their means for managing postgraduate studies, research and innovation, and raising the administrative efficiency of all sectors related to it and what has been accomplished by them.
- Follow up and review the annual reports at the end of each academic year from the entities associated with it within the scope of its competence and evaluate them in preparation for placing them in the annual report on graduate studies, research and innovation at the university.
